Apple Updates the iPod Touch

It has been a long time waiting. Apple today announced a new iPod Touch. We were expecting it to be released around the time of the AirPods 2. During that time earlier this year Apple made a full week of new devices with a new Mini, Air, iMac, and Apple New+.

The new iPod Touch will be open for order on apple.com and in Apple Store App today. Then later this week available in retail locations. Inside the iPod will be the A10 chip used from the iPhone 7 generation of devices. Apple features it being used for gaming and augmented reality (AR). The A10 will also give it the benefit of Group FaceTime.

Apple uses the majority of the press release to put their gaming stats on display. Their statement regards the iOS AppStore as the world’s largest gaming platform.

For the first time the iPod Touch will feature a 256GB option for more music while on the go. Pricing for other sizes will be $199 for 32GB, $299 for 128GB then $399 for 256GB. It will come in six colors; space gray, white, gold, blue, pink and (Product) Red.
