Mario counts coins: Nintendo sells 20 million Switch consoles

Mario is in the tunnels under the Mushroom Kingdom counting his coins right now. Nintendo announced they have now sold over 20 million Nintendo Switch consoles. On the popularity of The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild and other first party games has lead to the brand making a comeback after the less than popular WiiU was released.

The Switch will be pushed more this upcoming holiday season with games such as Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate and two Pokémon: Let’s Go games. Nintendo turned a $275 profit (up 88.4%) on $1.51 billion in revenue (up 9.1%) from the previous year.
