Samsun begins the year off with one of the first major events of 2019. The Unpacked events are the announcement of their flagship Galaxy devices.
Galaxy S10 – In four different flavors
Options are not in short supply with the Galaxy S10. It has the standard S10 and larger screen S10+ with new variants of the S10e and S10 5G being introduced.
The hole punch rumors have come true with the AMOLED display having sensors installed in the newly named Infinity-O display. Improved on the S10 is a 10mp sensor that can record 4K video. The S10+ model hole punch packs a secondary lens for improved portrait photos. Each different S10 variant has a changing size. Starting with a flat 5.8″ on the S10e of the budget end. Scaling up to a 6.1″ for S10 that jumps to 6.4″ for S10+ display. Finally, Samsung grows it to 6.7″ for the second quarter released S10 5G. One last trick the Infinity-O packs is the Ultrasonic Finger Print Scanner under the glass. The finger print reader uses 3D contours rather than a 2D image.
Samsung takes the number of lenses on the flagship up to three. These include a 123 degree wide angle, standard angle, and a telephoto lens to capture every photo need. The S10e will only have two of the three lenses on the back.
Samsung has of course packed in standard features of a flagship phone. Those include IP-68 water resistance, Fast Charge, and Samsung services. A new feature to the mainstream will be PowerShare7. This allows you to charge another wireless device off of your own S10. Now if you travel with two devices you only need one charger to keep both powered.
